Composition: is an arrangement of a subject or an element. If you have done it successfully, it draws in the viewers eyes to see the whole painting and then the eyes settles on the main subject of your art. It gives your work more structure and layout of the subject you are trying to present in the painting. Sometimes all composition does not need to look like they belong together because this could tell the viewers how they suppose to be feeling when looking at the painting.
If you look at the painting, your eyes goes around before looking at the main subject which is in the middle. Everyone has different ways of looking at composition so is not everyone that focuses on the outside and then in the inside of compositional painting.
